Love

This is how we should love
We all want to be loved or feel love and it is important we should love back too. My best
definition of love is according to St. Paul in the 1 Corinthians chapter 13 vs. 4-7. He tells us that “love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Love has nothing to do with music video or holy hood love. To me that kind of love is not real or true. That kind of love expects something in return and expects you to be perfect. It expects you to be a certain way to be loved. While the love by which we came into existence, gives it unconditional, with no string attached.

“LOVE” is full of grace. For example: you don’t need to do anything for you to be loved by someone. That person loves you simply because you are you. No matter what you do, he or she loves you and that is what grace does.

One thing I have realised in this world is that, people want you to be a certain way for them to love you. I will advise you to stick to who you are. As long as you are not doing any wrong to any one, you are good. You don’t need to change who you are for you to receive love. If that person does not love you for whom you are, then he/she does not deserve to be in your life. Don’t be someone else to get love; it will affect you in the long run. Love only wants the best for you.

I leave you with my favourite quote of love from Paulo Coelho "one is love because one is love. No reason is needed to be loved". Remember this, the next time anyone wants you to be a certain way for him/her to love you. The only thing love wants from you, is to for you to be the best and reach your God given potential.

It is a poor idea to lie to yourself

Admit it to yourself and control things
We all have been in love and in that situation in which the person we love does not feel the same way. I am not saying that you should stick around and make a fool of yourself, but the earlier you accept that you have feelings for that person, the better is going to get for you. It is a poor idea to lie to yourself.
You know yourself and what you feel about the person and yet you are denying it to yourself. Why? I think because society makes you feel that way. That admitting that you care for someone who does not care for you is embarrassing and disgraceful.
Now i want you to pause for a minute and think. Like in every other addiction, no that I am saying that you are addicted to the person you are in love with, it is just an instance. If you don’t admit there is a problem, how will you correct it and move forward? How will you look for ways to break free of that that is tying you down, if you don’t admit it? For example: you very well know that you care for Peter, but Peter does not feel the same and in order for you not to get hurt, you have to break free from him. How will you do that, when you are denying you have feelings for him? - You cannot change what you don't admit.
So, it is very important you tell yourself the truth. Admitting to yourself that you very much care about him is a good idea, because it will now help you break free from him. We all know that when you do have a problem, psychologists and therapist will tell you to admit the problem or the issue first in order to turn things around.
Next time you want to lie to yourself, pause and think. Admitting what you feel or have done is a great idea. You don’t need to lie to yourself, you will be burying things and in the long run it will affect you. Tell yourself the true and you will find a way out. Trust me, it works magic.
